Kama by Paul G. Bens, Jr – review

Title: Kama
Author: Paul G Bens, Jr
Genre: Modern, gay fiction
URL: http://velvetmafia.com/20/bens.php
Price: FREE
Other Information/warnings: explicit m/m, adult themes, possible squick
Summary :

Edward’s just been dumped by his long-term lover, and out seeking solace in a gay bar, when he meets a beautiful young man with a sad secret.

My review:

A deceptive little story from the excellent Velvet Mafia ezine which, at the beginning, leads the reader to think this will just be a cute porny piece about intergenerational sex…but which then veers off into something really quite dark and not very sweet at all.

Lovely capturing of the mood of loss and despair of the middle-aged lover having to engage in the dating scene again, knowing he’s well past the age of attraction. And Kama is deceptively lovely too, sliding under Edward’s hardened shell like a stiletto.

May be a squick for some people but warnings would be a complete spoiler. Just read it.
